BOUNCING BACK – RESILIENCE FACTOR
Reset the baseline of personal fitness
Bounce back — and into a sustainable fitness routine, without exerting the pressure on joints that can come from running or other forms of exercise.
When speaking to people who regularly use rebounders (i.e., ≥ 3 sessions per week for at least 15-20 minutes per session), the recurring theme is that the experience is effective and gentle on the body. It can also be modified into a more rigorous workout with longer sessions, aerobic exercise, and weights.
Rebounders have been around for many decades now, and there is scientific research supporting the benefits — from the oft-cited 1980 study: “Body Acceleration Distribution and O2 Uptake in Humans during Running and Jumping” to a more recent 2018 study: “The Effect of Several Weeks of Training with Mini-Trampolines on Jump Performance, Trunk Strength and Endurance Performance”.
Sometimes referred to as “mini-trampolines”, rebounders come in a wide range of price and quality. After doing our research, we chose a Bellicon rebounder.
Made in Germany, the equipment is durable and attractive with a high-quality of materials and construction. Though pricey, the equipment and the Bellicon video library of guided sessions allow us to focus on fitness at home rather than at a gym, and that makes it economical and sustainable.✪
